‘Off the Chain’ Fishing in Wisconsin’s Northwoods

Summer has arrived and we have beautiful waters here in the Northwoods! We have begun another great fishing season up here in Northern Wisconsin and some of the best catches are yet to be found
outside the famous Chain of Lakes. Outside of the Eagle River Chain, there are hundreds of lakes to choose from in your next angler adventure.

Popular lakes off of the Chain that our guests have recommended here at the lodge include the North and South Twin Lakes. Anglers can find jumbo perch and other great sized pan fish, record muskies and decorative
walleye. Large mouth bass and small mouth bass can also be found in these scenic lakes. With almost 3,000 acres to fish, this lake is a very easy lake to fish if you’re a beginner and very seldom disappoints. These lakes are a favorite of many who come up to fish in the Northwoods on a regular basis and are very close to our lodge, less
then 10 minutes away!
Looking for more of a secluded spot to fish? You may want to try lakes such as Gotti Lake or Lake of thewisconsin2 Hills. These may not be as well-known but they provide a beautiful journey to finding that perfect quiet spot on the lake that allows you to lose all track of time. To get to these lakes, you may need to use a smaller aluminum boat or canoe/kayak, but you will find an abundance of great pan fish perfect for that shore dinner you have been anticipating all winter.

Still need to get your fishing license? Visit the Eagle River Chamber’s website and find all you need to get out on the water this season. You will also find great fishing reports from local guides who know these waters inside and out. Looking for a guide to show you the secret hot spots? Your will also find a great option for a Northwoods fishing guide here, as well as the latest fishing reports. It’s time to get those boats in the water and that measuring tapes ready! See you out on the water!!
